New Friends

After Kris' graduation with his MBA and our move from Logan to North Ogden for his career we kind of mourned the farewell of our student life. Not that there wasn't a certain benefit to earning a paycheck....like..... money, but being a young student family was so much fun for us! Mainly we were sad to leave behind the friendships we had made. When we were students we were surrounded by young couples like us that were in the same stage of life and obviously friendships came a little more naturally. One of the first things we discussed after getting accepted was how excited we were to go back to the student life for a little while and once again be surrounded by young couples with common goals and interests.

Today was exactly what we were excited about. This afternoon I went window shopping with a few new girlfriends from my ward. Kris was nice enough to watch the boys for me while we went. Shanell and Carrie (second year dental wives) and Lauren, Emily and I (first year dental wives) headed to The Americana Shopping Center for a couple of hours just to check things out. I love it there, it is definitely a favorite "getaway for the day" destination for me. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a few kindred shopping spirits among our little group today! You know who you are! The best part of the Americana is that you don't have to spend any money to have fun. It's a beautiful place to window shop and on the weekends live bands perform where people can gather on the grass to listen. There is also a fun fountain show to music in the evenings. We haven't taken Ryan there yet, but he would love to watch the water and listen to music.

In the evening some of us stuck around and our spouses joined us for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. We had a great time chatting and making plans to do more together in the future. We can't wait! Hooray for new friends!

The future "bringin' home the bacon" men: Kris, Bridger J. and Kyle C.
